Municipal Airport PCI Compliant Card Reader Fuel Management System

Fuel Management System. Situation/Challenge:

In 2009, Tok Alaska Municipal Airport was looking for a cost effective fuel management and card reader system that would accept major credit cards and print customer receipts, without having to purchase a high priced Point Of Sale System. The airport simply wanted to be able to offer their customers the convenience of using their credit card and print receipts. They also knew that the system must be PCI compliant due to new regulations in the Payment Card Industry. Another challenge was finding a system that could operate well in the harsh Alaska environment. They were also under budget constraints from the City Council.

Solution:

Tok Alaska Airport selected the FuelForce FF814C card reader (with customer receipt printer) system with FuelForce host software loaded on the site PC. They chose the FF814C for its unmatched functionality, PCI compliance, easy to use software, and the ability to operate in the harsh Alaska environment.

Benefits/Results:

With this system, and using a simple analog phone line for credit card authorization, Tok Alaska was able to avoid the high cost of a Point Of Sale System and still provide a simple PCI compliant card reader system and receipts to their customers. The system is able to fuel 200+ gallons per transaction to the fuel tanks of the various aircraft customers, while the owners of the Fuel are able to track and manage all fuel use for their expensive AVGAS 100LL and Jet Fuel.
