Fuel Management Innovations from Multiforce

Over 40 Years of Industry Firsts in Fuel Management Pioneering

Founded in 1981

Multiforce was founded in 1981 with a vision of providing the upmost in technological solutions to fleet managers. Below is a list of some of the key innovations made by the company since its formation.

.

Industry's First Cardless/Keyless Fueling System

In 1984, we introduced FuelForce®, the industry's first cardless/keyless fueling system (FF801).  The system was designed with two-way communication to a Hewlett-Packard minicomputer, one of the most powerful local computer system for the day.

Odometer Validation

We introduced a vehicle based odometer validation algorithm, enabling accurate mileage tracking and miles per gallon analysis with no additional cost or hassle of external devices. This allowed for tracking of vehicle usage as well as calculation of true, in-field miles per gallon metrics.

CNG Control and Management

In 1988, we created the ability to control and manage CNG and Propane. That introduction was the first of its kind to control alternative fuels, a trend the continues at Multiforce to this day. We also pioneered the concept of public/private fueling from a single fuel controller for CNG sites around the nation.

Windows-based Platform

In 1993, we were the first to offer windows-based fuel management software, utilizing Microsoft Windows and a graphical user interface for fuel management data. Windows had emerged at the time as the de-facto standard for PCs in the business environment. This innovation proved to the fuel management industry that Multiforce had its vision fixed on providing solution to an ever-changing technology world.

TankWatch

In 1994, we launched TankWatch, a tank reconciliation module, integrating industry-leading tank monitoring systems into the FuelForce fuel management platform. TankWatch was the first system that actually compared the actual tank level with the calculated amounts pumped and delivered, providing fleet managers a true usage and forecasting model for their fuel deliveries. TankWatch also gave fleet managers the ability to meet federal reporting requirements for underground tank leakage.

Real-Time Network-Deployment

In 2005, we were the first to provide LAN-based access to the fuel management application and database, creating a multi-user environment, with multiple user roles and privileges. This capability allowed for fleet management staff to have quick access to fueling data across their own local area networks, again a first in the industry.

SQL Database Architecture

in 2005, we developed an SQL version of FuelForce database, bringing the strength and integrity of a robust, standards-based database infrastructure. SQL gave fleet data managers the ability to easily create complex queries and filters, providing a simple interface to view fueling data from a myriad of perspective.

Cloud-Based Fuel Management

Launched in 2006, FuelServe.net is the industry’s first cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) platform, utilizing the full access, data-backup, and redundancy features of cloud-enabled applications. That system has now been in place for over 15 years and we’ve received key feedback from our customers that has allowed us to modify FuelServe.net to meet fleet management needs. It is now, frankly, the high-water mark in capability, ease of use, and power in fuel management.

Integrated EV Charging Management System

Launched in 2017, FuelForce/EV™ was the first fuel EV Charging management system integrated into standard fuel management, effectively managing electricity like any other fuel. With the growth of demand for electric vehicles, especially for fleets, integrating electric vehicle charging management into a single platform simplifies access and training for fleet management staff looking at fuels of all types, from any location, on all types of platforms from desktops to tablets to smartphones!
